Our story
Art for the quiet corners

Marianne Holloway, founder & painter
My grandmother had a cabin on a small lake in northern Michigan, and a dock that leaned slightly to the left. As a girl I would sit at the end of it with her while she read her morning psalm aloud, and the water would be so still it looked like a second sky.
Years later, in a season when life felt anything but still, I went back. I brought a small set of watercolors and painted the dock every morning for forty days. Beneath each painting I wrote the verse I had prayed that day.
Those forty small paintings became the first Jesus Arts collection. Today every piece still starts that way — outdoors, early, with a verse in mind.
